I used to be able to buy Nando’s Sauces at Taste stores here in Hong Kong.
As you know, Taste is one of the more up-market stores in Hong Kong carrying many speciality and imported products. As can be expected, their price-range also reflects this.
As they were always either low in (Nando’s) stock or sold out, I was rather perplexed when they stopped selling Nando’s altogether.

I always keep an eye out for South African products on the local shelves and today’s shopping trip with the Missus was a happy one.
I found Nando’s back on the shelves again but this time at a local (Whampoa Garden) Park ‘n Shop. Unfortunately they only carry one line, the 125ml Hot Peri Peri @ HK$29.90, but I’m not complaining.
Also, as far as the Nando’s sauce is concerned, Park ‘n Shop is complying with the 4-day old regulation that requires shops to sell food products with labels specifying it’s nutritional contents.
I can but hope that this means Nando’s will be available for longer this time around.
Let me know if you are able to find Nando’s in your neck-of-the-woods.

In response to my previous post about the South African wine industry in Hong Kong, Helena wrote to inform us that Nederburg is the official wine for the FIFA 2010 Soccer World Cup and that the limited edition Twenty Ten range includes a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Sauvignon Blanc and a Dry Rose.
So far Howzit-HongKong.com has seen TwentyTen in Park ‘n Shop stores.
If consumers are not well-versed with Nederburg wines, they can use their internet-enabled cell phones to log onto the mobi-website printed on the bottle’s label to go directly to the mobi.nederburg.co.za website to learn more about the different varieties, right there in the store. For obvious reasons, you have to enter your date-of-birth but once you’re in there, click on the FIFA-tab to learn more about the TwentyTen varietals. Howzit-HongKong.com did it and voila:
