I have been a subscriber to KuduClub ever since I moved to Asia a decade ago.
While some of the adverts promoted the online service as a “portal for Afrikaans” on the internet, I enjoyed watching all programmes especially South African favourites like Carte Blanche, Kwela, Boots and All, Super Rugby, Roer and many others.
Of late I have unable to even log into the service, to great frustration, especially since the SuperRugby season had started and I had to get my weekly “rugby fix” from watching Boots and All (English) and SuperRugby (Afrikaans).
I was rather shocked and very disappointed to learn today (via their FaceBook page) that KuduClub has/is going to be shutting down.
This closure follows high on the heels of the closure of another online service offering mostly SA content: RugbyZone at the end of last year.
Not a good move, guys. This move will only lead to more pirate streaming/watching.
Where’s my SlingBox?

Here at Howzit-HongKong.com/BlitzBokke.com HQ, we do a lot of stuff.
Stuff that gets us around.
Stuff that gets us to network with lots of interesting (and sometimes, boring) people.
But most of all, stuff that we love doing.
For free. Vir niks. For mahala.
But as the saying goes, man shall not live by bread alone.
It’s the thanks that we receive from readers and Sevens rugby supporters from around the globe that sustain us.
OK, OK, while I love my bread (well, a fresh baguette to be specific) for sustenance and getting thank you e-mails from around the world, nothing makes me more happy than when the DHL-man knocks on my door unexpectedly.
Look what he brought me today:

Can I get a Whoop Whoop for my Zoopy-branded Flip Video Camera!
I have been a member of and contributor to the old Zoopy.com since their inception a few years ago.
On my profiles of KaapseKlonki and lately HowzitHongKong, I uploaded many of the video-clips that I embedded on my blogs and websites.
However, in an attempt at keeping up with the ever-changing trends in South Africa, Zoopy.com recently changed tack. In a shrewd business move, CEO Jason Elk and his gang reinvented themselves from a user-generated content media sharing website, to an inhouse, made-for-mobile news content website. (Try saying that fast!)
While I cannot upload videos anymore, hopefully I (and you) will still be able to add to this groundbreaking, exciting new direction of Zoopy.com
You can assist by sharing with them what you are watching or, if you’re abroad, what the news in your neck-of-the-woods is.
Join Zoopy on Twitter (@zoopy) or on FaceBook
Excuse me while I go and play with my new toy!

The Zoopy.com app on my iPhone4 is available for free!

In case you haven’t noticed, the 2009/2010 season of the International Rugby Board’s (IRB) Sevens World Series kicks off in Dubai in just over a week’s time. Coach Paul Treu’s Springbok Sevens Team is firmly ensconced in their Dubai hotel in anticipation of their Dubai Title defence.
If it genuinely passed you by (It better be! Check my angry face!) don’t be concerned, Howzit-HongKong.com’s sister website BlitzBokke.com is firmly on TOP of things! Just pop in over at the website for everything you need to know about what’s happening in Dubai and all the other tournaments in the Series. There are stories about the Bokke’s new playing strip, their new Captain, stories from fans across the world and many more.
The BlitzBokke is in the favourable position of having to defend their titles in the first two tournaments of the Series: Dubai (5-6 December) and George, South Africa a week later so…
Stay tuned for all the action!
