Are you registered with the SA Consulate in Hong Kong?

South African citizens who will be in Hong Kong or China for any length of time, are encouraged to
register with the nearest South African Embassy or Consulate. Registration forms are available at
the missions.
Please note that the completion of the registration form is voluntary. However, please note that all
information contained in the form is for the sole use of the South African mission, hence the
information provided will be handled strictly confidential by missions and will not be divulged to
other persons or institutions.
By registering, missions are assisted in determining how many citizens are abroad in a city, town
or region in HK or China. It assists the mission's plan in an event of an evacuation, natural
disaster, etc. Furthermore, your contact details will be available in case of emergency. It is
recommended that a separate form be completed for children over 16 years of age.
Please forward your completed registration form either by post or by e-mail to your local SA
Embassy or Consulate.
Please inform the mission on your intended permanent departure from HK or China and request
that your name be removed from the registration list.
Consular Services

One of the services provided by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in particular by the Consulate-General's Office in
Hong Kong, is that of Consular Service.  Howzit Hong Kong! strongly recommends that you take the opportunity of
registering yourself (and your family) as South Africans living in Hong Kong.  This is particularly important in cases of
emergency for both the Consulate AND your family in SA to contact you.  Read more about Consular Services by clicking
on the DFA link
here.
