The IRB Sevens World Series 2008/2009

It's that time of the year again when everybody start planning and clearing
their schedules for the IRB Sevens Series 2008/2009. An added bonus this
time around is that Dubai will be hosting no less than TWO tournaments this
time with the IRB World Cup Sevens in 2009!

Official Draw for the Hong Kong Sevens 2008

South Africa's Sevens Springboks received a favourable draw at the recent
Official Draw held at The Rotunda in Hong Kong's Central district.  Howzit

Nations

The rugby scene in Asia is hotting up! HSBC Limited and the Asian Rugby
Football Union (ARFU) recently announced the introduction of a major
innovation in Asian Rugby, the HSBC Asian Five Nations Series (HSBC A5N).

The Hong Kong Men's & Women's Sevens Teams were announced at the
snazzy UBS HQ in 1IFC (Central) on Tuesday March 18, 2008.
By holding the Men's AND the Women's announcement at the same function,
the HKRFU has made an important statement about the status of the Women's
game in Hong Kong.  The Women's Sevens Tournament will this year take
place just across the road at So Kun Po, with the Final being played in front of
40 000 screaming fans in HK Stadium.
